Your area will have specific requirements for the fencing of pools and spas. The following are the most common general requirements: Your pool MUST be fenced. The fence must be sound and there mustn’t be anything nearby that allows children to climb up over the fence such as trees or garden features. It must have a self-closing gate in good working order, free from obstruction and no signs of damage or deterioration due to weather, lack of maintenance or age. Latches must be above the reach of a child and there should be nothing that allows a child to climb up on the gate.
