What are my housing options when it comes to Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs)?
Residents can move among the available housing options as their needs change. These options — all on the same campus or in the same high-rise building — include Independent Living units for healthy, active seniors; Assisted Living units for independent seniors who require help with the activities of daily living (ADLs); and Nursing Home accommodations for those who are in need of skilled nursing care. If a senior who develops a need for Assisted Living or nursing Home Care recovers, he/she is able to resume Independent Living.
