What are my full time study options if I must first complete course work at the English Language Programs (ELP) prior to entering credit bearing University courses?
Depending on English language proficiency level, some IGSP students will study in the English Language Programs for 2-4 months prior to beginning credit course study. A student’s schedule depends on ELP placement test results (taken on campus the week prior to classes starting). All students will take the equivalent to 4 CUs (full time study to satisfy F-1 visa requirements), which corresponds to 20 hours of class work per week. The class work will be a combination of core and elective courses that vary each semester. It is possible for some students to combine ELP studies with credit-bearing courses to meet the F-1 visa requirements for full-time study.
