What are my FEHB benefits when Im temporarily out of the Group Health service area?
A. You are always covered, anywhere in the world, for emergency care. For both the High and Standard Option plan, there is a $150 copayment per emergency room visit. When you are temporarily outside our service area (which includes most of Washington and North Idaho) by more than 100 miles, you also have a travel benefit for medically necessary health services, which are now covered (subject to applicable cost shares and services received) up to a maximum of $2,000 per person per calendar year. You can also use Kaiser Permanente facilities if you are traveling in an area where Kaiser Permanente facilities are located. Your care at Kaiser Permanente facilities would be covered the same as a Group Health provider through a reciprocal agreement with Kaiser Permanente.
