What are my different floor joist options?
You can choose from a 2×10 floor joist, I –Beam or webbed/engineered floor joist system. With the 2×10 being the cheapest and the engineered being more expensive. You must take all factors into consideration when ordering. The trusses allow easier running of the venting, plumbing and electrical, eliminating the need for drop down ceilings in your basement, giving you more height. The trusses also allow larger spans between tele-posts. They will cost you about $3000 more for a 1000 sq. ft home.
