Each year DETA employs approximately 1400 new permanent teachers and 3500 teachers on a temporary basis. Applicants can increase their chance of employment by being willing to work in a range of locations and/or being qualified in areas of high demand. All recruitment for permanent teacher employment undertaken by DETA is vacancy driven. Offers of employment are dependent on the number and nature of vacancies.
