You obviously are well-read and highly-intelligent. But you are ignoring the well-established wisdom of seeking someone else to diagnose, monitor, and treat yourself and family members that most doctors follow for very good reasons. It’s objectivity that makes this process work and safe, and it is near impossible to observe oneself with consistent objectivity. And there is no place more impossible to make truly consistent and accurate objective observations of oneself than ones thoughts and feelings. There *are* dangers other than the very serious serotonin syndrome. For instance, drugs which alter this blood serum neurotransmitter level have been documented in many recorded cases to cause the sudden onset of suicidal behaviors. Mental Health professionals and family have to be very careful to monitor for this problem because of how suddenly it may develop and lead to a crisis, or even death.
