The chances are fair if you are a US citizen and poor if not. It will help if your international flight arrives early or at least on time and there are not too many people in line for Immigration in front of you. Try to select a seat as far forward as possible so you exit the aircraft ahead of the crowd, and don’t dawdle on the way to passport control. There are many flights from Atlanta to Washington and the airline will put you on the next flight if you miss the one scheduled. Check with the airline so you know the next-flight options.
