What are multi-user switches?

0

Multi-user KVM switches typically have 2 or more user ports, and allow 2 or more users to work simultaneously. For example: on a 4-user KVM switch, up to 4 users may be located in front of 4 different consoles, all attached to the same KVM switch. All 4 users may be accessing and controlling computers attached to the KVM switch at the same time. Depending on the model, users may be sharing control over the same computer, or may have exclusive control over the computer they are working on, or may be working privately shutting the other users out of their session. A multi-user KVM switch also allows each user to control a different computer, even when all users are working at the same time.
