Not all multi-effect processors go in racks. I have a BOSS BR-9 that is only 11″ x 8.5″ x 2″. The guitar plugs into the LINE IN jack on the processor and the LINEOUT jack cables out to the amp. The processor alters the signal sent to the amp.The BR-9 also has a jack for a mike and you can apply effects to vocals as well. Nice not hauling all those pedals around!
