What are MHSA Strategies for Transition Age Youth (Ages 16-25)?
A. All MHSA strategies for Children are part of the Monterey County System of Care: La Familia Sana/The Healthy Family. Supportive Housing Projected Start Date: December 2006. Peacock Acres, Inc. will provide supportive housing and mental health services to youth exiting the Youth Center. This is a pilot project with six youth expected to be served in the initial contract period. Transition Age Youth Vocational Program Project Start Date: October 2006 Interim, Inc. will provide pre-employment training, job development, placement and support. The Vocational Program will be co-located in the Youth House. So far, staff has been hired and services are being provided at alternative locations until the Youth House is open. Youth House Projected Start Date: January/February 2007 Operated by Monterey County Childrens Behavioral Health, the Youth House will offer wellness and recovery education for youth and their families and further serve as a social outlet for transition age youth in the com
