What are Metformin side effects?
Patients taking Metformin can sometimes experience side effects including nausea, abdominal pain, headaches, diarrhea, weakness, vomiting, muscle pain or gas. Contact your doctor if any of the more serious side effects occur such as body aches; shortness of breath; fever; swelling or gaining weight rapidly; or chills. You may develop an allergic reaction to Metformin and signs of this could include hives; skin rash; trouble breathing or swollen throat, mouth, tongue, lips or face. You should get medical help immediately if you notice any of these signs after taking Metformin.
