What are metal fiber brushes?
HiPerCon metal fiber brushes (MFBs) are electrical and/or thermal contacts for use on both sliding and stationary applications. They are made up of many thousands of very fine, flexible metal fibers. HiPerCon metal fiber brushes make contact on the tips of the fibers. This allows the brushes to maintain better contact with surfaces than comparably sized graphite and metal-graphite brushes. It also allows them to make much better electrical contact than other varieties of metal fiber brushes, where the fibers lay flat on the surface and touch only on the sides of a relatively small number of fibers.
