What are Messier-Bugatti’s past and present connections with the car industry?

0

Given the name of its founders, Messier-Bugatti has always had the image of a company involved in motor sports. Between 1925 and 1931, George Messier delivered more than 150 of his trademark “no springs” cars – a first. Conventional metal springs were replaced by four oleo-pneumatic suspension devices providing for a more flexible connection between the axle and the chassis. The last vehicle produced is on display in the museum in Reims. Ettore Bugatti manufactured his first motor vehicle in 1901 at the age of 20, set up shop in Alsace in 1902 and created his company in 1909 in Molsheim, producing some 7,500 world-famous “Bugatti” cars over the years. This site is part of our industrial heritage, but today it only produces aircraft equipment. In 1987, Messier-Bugatti sold the “Bugatti” trademark, which has since been bought by Volkswagen. Messier-Bugatti has retained the use of this trade name for its primary activity – aeronautics. Nevertheless, Messier-Bugatti has kept its connection
