It depends what kind of place you are going to , if it’s an in patient centre they tend to be a lot nicer than ward hospitals. In an inpatient centre you get a room of your own so it can feel more homely and the care involves more one to one daily care, activities and group work. In a ward you are provided with a bed only and see the psych about once a week, the wards are monitored by nurses and auxiliaries mainly. You will be required to have bloods taken several times a day, you get 3 meals each day and coffee and biscuits etc. Most of the time is spent occupying yourself, patients in the ward will differ dependant on where you go, but particularly disruptive patients are kept apart from more minor cases. It is very very very boring so keep things to keep yourself occupied, they usually have a tv room but it is shared. You have to ask for razors etc. You will be given rules when you enter and if you keep to these then you will not be monitored to closely unless in your care plan. If
