Each executing process uses an extended segment of 64K bytes to store internal information. Only a small portion of this 64K of virtual memory is actually used by typical programs, so physical memory requirements are small. You can configure up to 4 volumes for the extended segment’s swap files using global parameters, so you do not need to worry about running out of space on the volume where the object files reside.
