We normally have adequate snow cover for mushing from Dec. thru late March. Average snowfall for our area is 120″ (that’s 10 feet!) and because we are in the mountains we are usually north of the rain/snow line if it’s a mixed precipitation storm. Dec. and Jan. normal highs run around 20 degrees Farenheit and lows around 0 degrees Farenheit. End of Feb. and March temperatures are somewhat milder. Cold snaps of -20 to -30 Farenheit can occur in any of these months.
