What are LSVT Workshops?
The two-day LSVT Certification and Training workshop is the mechanism that has been developed over the years (the first workshop was in 1993) to offer training in LSVT. Each workshop includes a review of published research data, the neurological basis for the LSVT and detailed training in the techniques administered as a part of LSVT. The workshop also includes “hands on” training with patients with Parkinson disease. The LSVT Workshops are an exciting blend of speech clinicians who are experts in treating motor speech disorders such as Parkinson disease and speech clinicians who are experts in treating voice disorders. The combination of these two areas of expertise offers the opportunity to discuss optimal use of voice treatment to improve speech production in individuals with neurological disorders such as Parkinson disease, which offer very special challenges.
