Line of Sight (LOS) interference is anything that stands between the access point and the network adapter. This includes walls, doors, windows and trees. When fewer obstacles are in the way, the signal is better. Electromagnetic Interference is caused by other high-frequency microwave devices within a certain range. Cell phones, pagers, other Wi-Fi networks and even microwave ovens have been known to degrade the quality of a Wi-Fi connection.
