What are lean meats?
Lean meats are usually white and consist of chicken or turkey without the skin, fish (salmon, tuna, sardines, herring, etc.), and shellfish – yet limit your amount to no more than 6 oz a day and 3-4 oz per serving. Lean meats are what keep your blood cholesterol level low, lower the risk of coronary heart disease, and reduce the risk of colon cancer. Fish in addition provides you with essential fatty acids (omega-3) for heart health.
