What are layers in Macromedia Flash?

0

In Flash we have something called layers. Im glad we have them because else it would be a bit like have a sky scraper with only 1 floor. Every piece of business in that sky scaper had to be conducted on that same floor and you can image that gets messy. (sorry for a bad comparison but i suck at that hehe) A normal sky scraper has lots of floors and each business works on its own floor. In Flash layers are like floors, its a way for us to have all our content seperated and thus we can edit each object on its own etc. Lets say you create 2 layers in an empty flash document. If you would draw a square on layer 1 and a circle on layer 2, then you will notice that if the square is above the circle. In Flash we by default see the most upper layer as layer 1, the top layer.
