What are Key Selection Criteria and do I need to address them in my application?
For some of our roles, we will ask applicants to address the Key Skills Knowledge and/or Experience (Key Selection Criteria), as outlined in the advertisement. You should provide a succinct and relevant outline of your knowledge, skills and abilities in reference to the specified criteria. For example, if one of the Key Selection Criteria is ‘the ability to interpret legislation’ you should mention current or past work experience or any relevant tertiary qualifications that will assist you in interpreting legislation. Make sure you back up your statements with practical examples illustrating how you have met the Key Selection Criteria. A Key Selection Criteria response is usually 2-3 pages in total, depending on the position requirements. Please save your Key Selection Criteria in MS Word 2003 or earlier version (.doc), MS Word 2007 (.docx), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) or text files (.pxt) only.
