What are Keratoses?

0

Keratoses is the abbreviation for actinic keratoses (AK). These are also known as solar keratoses, senile keratoses or simply ‘sun spots’. AK is considered to be non-malignant or pre-malignant and have the potential to develop into cancer and is therefore considered precancerous. Untreated, they may develop into malignant (cancerous) squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Thus, it is very important to identify & treat keratoses.
