What are IVs and EVs?
IV’s are Initial Values (Also known as Individual Values). Each stat has an IV of 0-31. This value is static and can never be changed. The effect the value has is that the higher the value, the more stats will increase as you level up. By level 100, the difference between 0 and 31 is 31 points in the stat. EV’s are Effort Values. Effort Values are gained through fighting Pokemon. Each Pokemon gives a certain number of EV’s based on what breed it is. Gaining EV’s is a lot like gaining AP in a Final Fantasy game in that the EV’s are not divided among the Pokemon that participated, meaning you can start the battle with your weak pokemon and switch it out with a strong one, and the weak one will still gain full EV from the battle. This is still true when using EXP Share. The downside from EXP Share is that you cannot take full advantage of the Pokerus + Macho Brace combination, both of which double EV’s gained through battle and stack with each other, because you will have the EXP Share eq
