What Are Intramural Sports?
Intramurals are competitive yet fun individual, dual and team sports such as flag football, table tennis, badminton, kickball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, racquetball, tennis, sand volleyball, softball and golf. Teams compete against each other within the ASU community. Divisions include Men’s, Women’s, Co-Recreational, and Open leagues.
Intramural sports are designed for WMU students, faculty/staff, and members of the Student Recreation Center. Programs offered by the intramural sports department include both team and individual sports. Through University Recreation, intramural sport participation provides opportunities for individuals to develop leadership and team building skills. In addition, the intramural experience allows participants to set goals, develop friendships, participate in physical activity, and enrich their lives.
Intramural Sports is a program designed to offer opportunities for participation in a wide variety of activities at the collegiate level. Many students have played sports at the high school or recreational level, and IM Sports affords the opportunity to stay active in sports without the time commitments or skill level of the varsity player. We offer various different leagues and tournament throughout the academic year. The sports offered are listed on the IM Sports Web site.
• The Intramural Sports program gives the UCI community (students, faculty, and staff) the opportunity to compete against one another in various sport leagues and tournaments. League sports include 5 weeks of pool play and another 3 weeks of playoffs. Tournaments can be either single elimination or double elimination formats and shorter in length lasting a day or two depending on the number of entries.
