0

Instruments and Articles of Government are legal documents that determine the status of an education provider. They define the basis for its operation. Enshrined in Statutory Instrument 1992, the Education (Government of FE Corporations) (Former Further Education Colleges) Regulations came into force on 30 September 1992. The Instrument of Government was subsequently modified by Order of the Secretary of State on 1 August 1999. The Instrument and Articles of Government were replaced by Order of the Secretary of State on 1 April 2001. In May 2006, a new replacement Instruments and Articles for general FE colleges and sixth form colleges came into effect.
