What are Infrared Photographs?

0

The images labeled Infrared tend to have a reverse black and white look. What is happening is that things that reflect UV light appear white such as trees and plants, while things such as the sky or water appear dark gray or black. This effect is achieved by a special lens filter. The human visual range of light is 400nm (violet) to approximately 700nm (red.) The infrared spectrum is 700nm – 900nm. Different filters and cameras will cover different levels of the infrared spectrum.
