Infinity pools are also called negative edge pools or vanishing edge pools. This is because these pools blend the pool water into the horizon without a wall to stop the effect. The vanishing edge effect works by putting a weir (dip) below the water level. This enables the water to spill over the edge and into a basin below. Once a certain level of water is in the basin, the water is recirculated into the pool.
