What are Indirect/Overhead expenses?
Indirect/Overhead expenses are costs not directly related to the program, but necessary to run your organization. These are the costs related to “keeping the lights on” and may include rent, salaries of administrative, fundraising, and executive staff, utilities, etc. Grantseekers should be careful to separate out direct and indirect costs in their budgets and make sure that the the budget items are accounted for only in one of the categories.
