What are Incoterms 2000?
Incoterms are standard trade definitions most commonly used in international sales contracts. Devised and published by the International Chamber of Commerce, they are at the heart of world trade. Does the sale price include shipping? No. We ship to ports of call worldwide. International shipments usually require three modes of transport: truck, rail, and ocean. Because CIF is determined by cost, insurance, and freight, we first offer the sale price for the equipment. We then arrange carriage up to the named port once the buyer has made the deposit requirements for their order (freight). Insurance is purchased for the shipment at the time of container loading. We will quote a price for the carriage by email that includes insurance up to the port of discharge. The buyer must arrange (and pay for) carriage beyond the port of discharge.
