What are image quality modes, and which are available in the SP-510 UZ?
Image quality modes dictate the resolution (image size, measured in pixels) and compression ratio of the digital files created by the camera when it records images and movies. As resolution and image quality increase, so does the file size, which means fewer files can be stored. Image file quality is indicated as RAW (unprocessed), SHQ (Super High Quality), HQ (High Quality), SQ1 (Standard Quality) and SQ2 (Standard Quality at lower resolution). The SHQ and HQ modes offer two resolution options: Shoot in a 4:3 or a 3:2 aspect ratio. The SQ1 and SQ2 modes offer two compression options at each resolution. Choose HIGH for a low compression, which results in a higher quality image, or NORMAL for the standard compression. Movie file quality is indicated as SHQ, HQ, SQ1 and SQ2. The SP-510 UZ supports the following resolutions: Still images: 3072 x 2304 (RAW / SHQ / HQ); 3072 x 2048 (3:2 SHQ / 3:2 HQ); 2560 x 1920, 2304 x 1728, and 2048 x 1536 (SQ1 High / SQ1 Standard); and 1600 x 1200, 1280
