What are hydraulic components and why would I need to replace them?
When you step on your brake pedal you’re just starting a chain of events that ultimately causes your car to stop. By stepping on the pedal you’re putting force onto a hydraulic component (the master cylinder) that has the job of converting your foot pressure to hydraulic pressure by pressurizing your brake fluid. This tremendous pressure is then transmitted through a series of high pressure lines (like the water pressure through a garden hose) to your wheel cylinders and brake calipers where the hydraulic force is then converted back into mechanical force. As you can imagine, if one of these hydraulic components is sticking, broken, or not correctly functioning for any reason at all, then you are depending to stop on a faulty brake system. If one of these hydraulic components is leaking, you then run the additional risk of losing all of your hydraulic pressure and not being able to stop your vehicle at all. Your braking system is the most important safety component of your entire vehic
