What are Home Cinema and Movie Theatre Entertainment Systems?
Home Cinema Systems are an exciting addition to your viewing experience, with DVD and Surround Sound technology expanding the idea of a night in with a film and a bottle of wine. Home Cinema Systems usually consist of a DVD Player/Recorder and a Surround Sound Speaker set. You can also buy home cinema speaker systems which just include the speakers and don t include a DVD player. There are generally two types of home cinema system, passive and active. A passive system has the Surround Sound Amplifier built into the DVD Player, reducing the complexity of setting up the speakers. An active system has the amplifier built into the speaker system. There are usually five or six speakers in a set: a central speaker, two front speakers, two rear speakers and, as is becoming the norm, a sub-woofer. You should position the speakers around the room to give you the sense that you are totally immersed in the film that you are watching.
