What Are Hindi Movies?
Hindi movies are films made in India by Indian filmmakers. The “Hindi” are peoples native to the Indian sub-continent who are influenced the Hindu religion. As you can tell, the word “Hindi” gave rise to the western name of what Indians called Bharat Ganarajya: India. Today, you’ll often hear Indian films referred to as “Bollywood movies”, though this tends to refer to new Hindi movies of the last 20 years. Bollywood is a term for today’s Indian film making capital, the city of Mumbai. Mumbai is a financial and cultural center in India, though you’ll probably know it better by its western name: Bombay.
