What are Hazard Quotients and Risk Quotients?

0

The purpose of NECCS is to calculate hazard quotients and risk quotients for chemicals being used in drilling, production, cementing, completion and workover. The quotient is expressed as the ratio of PEC to PNEC. PEC is the Predicted Environmental Concentration, and is different for each substance in each application. PNEC is the Predicted No Effect Concentration, and for any substance is the same in each application. If standard reference platform data is used (either oil or gas) then the resulting quotient is the Hazard Quotient for the substance. If specific platform data is used then the result is the Risk Quotient for the substance. To read more see the further information section on the help index.
