What are Harvards Hasty Pudding Awards?
The Hasty Pudding Club is well known for their yearly choice of famous actors who are given awards as Woman of the Year and Man of the Year. The Hasty Pudding awards were started in 1951 for women and in 1967 for men. The recipients are treated to a celebratory ‘roast’ and a colorful parade. It all began in 1795, when twenty-one students started a club on the campus of Harvard University. All members pledged to uphold the secrecy of meetings and club agendas as well as to encourage social unity, friendship and patriotism. Each meeting would be concluded with a generous helping of hasty pudding that would be provided by club members.
