What are hand trollers, power gurdy trollers, and dinglebar trollers?
Trolling vessels move slowly while dragging lines with leaders and baited hooks through the water. On hand troll vessels, lines are hauled in by hand; on power gurdy troll vessels, lines are brought aboard using a power gurdy. Dinglebar trollers have weights attached to the end of their lines from which the leaders with baited hooks are attached. They are allowed to target groundfish and halibut while other trollers may take these species only incidentally.
