Gum paste is a type of sugar dough that is rolled much like fondant. Special cutters and tools are used to make different kinds flowers. Each flowers is shaped and formed by hand until the desired flower is completed and allowed to dry for several days. Depending on the size of the flowers and the amount needed, this process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to complete.
