What are groups?
Users can create and manage their own groups. Community members often want to self organize or spontaneously organize around a topic of interest. Allowing communities to organize naturally is important part of a healthy community. CZEN supports any group that is exploring the Critical Zone. That group may be funded directly by CZEN or not. CZEN wishes to remain inclusive of all individuals and members that wish to participate. A group is created by a single group owner, who has special permissions including the ability to delete the group the owner created. Group admistrators also have special permissions but can not delete the group unless they are assigned to be the group owner. Group subscribers (members) communicate amongst themselves using the group home page as a focal point. They do so by posting one of eight content types. Subscribers receive email notification of all new content posted to their group.
‘Groups’ allow you to further define a little of who you are, within individual Passions Network sites. ‘Groups’ also allow you to find people who share some similarity with you, whether it be a personal trait or a specific interest…and hopefully this will make it easier to break the ice and make new friends. Take a moment to browse some of the Green-Passions Groups to see how they work.
Groups are small communities dedicated to documents and discussions around a particular topic, user, publication, or event. Any user can create a group, and there’s no limit to the number of groups users can create. The person that creates a group is also the group’s administrator. You can add both documents and Scribd members to groups.
