What are grandiose overvalued ideas?
“Delusions can be difficult to distinguish from overvalued ideas, which are unreasonable ideas that a person holds, but the affected person has at least some level of doubt as to its truthfulness. A person with a delusion is absolutely convinced that the delusion is real.” Essentually someone thinking that they are, more evolved than other people for instance, that they are special, those are grandiose… meaning ideas of inflation self importance etc. However the person realizes such ideas may or may not be true. In delusions if the person says they are GOD they know for a fact that they are and no one will convince them otherwise. They may or may not be a sign of mental illness. They may be signs of abstract thinking such as in schizotypal disorder, aspects of ocd, hypochondria, borderline personality disorder and more.
