What are Grace’s views on baptism?
Being baptized in water proclaims through a physical symbol the spiritual reality that you have become identified with Christ through saving faith in Him. Therefore, those who have trusted in Jesus Christ as their Savior should be baptized. Baptism is our response to Jesus’ words in Matthew 28:19-20 where He says “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV) Much like a wedding ring signifies a commitment that has been made between husband and wife, the public act of baptism signifies a commitment that we have made to Jesus Christ. Baptism is one of the two ordinances practiced by the church (the other being the Lord’s supper or communion.)
