What Are Good Wide Receiver Drills?
“Hello, my name is Rocky Gillis. I’m with the Broward County Athletic Association and Offense Defense football camps. A few good wide receiver drills starts with first of all catching the ball. First we start with teaching wide receivers the hand placement for passes that are thrown to them versus… whether it be above the waist which is one position and then below the waist which is usually pinkies together. We next, after we work on that, we will start working on drills that work on their reaction time to the ball such as calling out different body positions. Chest left. Chest right. Waist middle. Right knee. Left knee. Head high. Head right. Head left. And this way these wide receivers get to work on moving and adjusting their hands. After that we bring the ball into play and we have the receivers to turn their backs and then throw the ball towards them and call out a position and have them to react as they turn around.
