What are good starting positions/industries for recent grads in business analytics?
Given the state of the economy, a good starting position would be anything you can get that doesn’t involve the phrase “do you want fries with that?” When many companies are in survival mode, the only analysis being done is cost cutting, and new recruitment is the first thing on the list. I graduated in the middle of a previous recession, and made little use of my Physics degree when I was driving forklift trucks or digging drainage ditches. Fortunately the economic cycle turns quickly, and the bad times don’t last so make the most of them, they build character. Good luck.
