What are good songs to learn for beginner rock guitarist?
Tagged As: Beginner Guitar Learn Play Question: Just bought an electric guitar and amp. I am interested in learning rock. Because my schedule is so odd I don’t really have time for formal lessons. I am usually up late on web sites practicing and also reading beginner guitar music books. I was wondering what your opinions are on what songs I should learn to play first that would be the most helpful to a beginner. I have run across these tunes as being beginner so-called rock required learning (stairway to heaven, smoke on the water, iron man). If you have any suggestions on what helped you the most when you were beginning I would love to hear about it. Also had a couple more questions. 1. How long does it take to build up your fingers?? 2. How important is it to really know how to read music vs. just reading tablature? I don’t ever expect to writing my own music, I just want to be able to play other artists songs.
