The Sound of Music – You only need a few guys for the speaking roles, you can have a large nun’s chorus if you have a lot of girls show up, and you may be able to get guys to audition if they get to be Nazis running around with falshlights. Most of the R&H shows would be good – large chorus, not a lot of guys needed (but can be added to the chorus if they show up), not a lot of dancing, very singable music If you can get the rights to it, High School Musical is *the* hot show right now. We’re doing it right now with about 10 guys… you could probably fill out some of the basketball team with girls if you needed to (I think there are 6 male speaking parts, plus the coach) Oh, one that I did a few years back was called Smile! It’s set as a High School Beauty pageant in the mid 1980’s. I think we had 5 guys in the show when we did it. Room for lots of girls in the pageant. Written by Howard Ashman/Marvin Hamlisch (of The Little Mermaid).
