What are good books/articles to read when questioning if God/Jesus exist or not?

I think the most reliable thing you can read are the brief, but accurate accounts of Jesus written in ancient times, between the years 50 A.D. and 200 A.D. People will tell you that evidence for Jesus does not exist outside of the Bible, but most historical scholars believe he did exist, and these documents are further affirmations of this. I suggest going back to the earliest possible sources and deciding for yourself, rather than be influenced by another author of modern religious philosophy. Among a list of non-Christian Roman (and other ethnicities) authors who mention Jesus and his influence on the first century are: Thallus, Pliny the Younger, Suetonius, Tacitus, Mara Bar-Serapion, Phlegon, Lucian of Samosata, Celsus, Josephus, the Jewish Talmud, and there are claims of Jesus being mentioned in Babylonian texts. Of course, if you consider the Bible to be also a book of historical events, you could include that, though so many are against the use of a religious text even though ma
