What are good basic papers to use for someone who is new to printing?

A. For black and white negatives I use Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper. For color I use Fujicolor Super FA G Professional Type P paper. I am very pleased with both of these papers. They are very easy to use and I use them for most of my printing. Unfortunately the Fuji paper is presently difficult or maybe even impossible to purchase in the United States. One somewhat similar paper is Kodak Supra paper.
