What are general guidelines for the formation of a standard curve?
1. The range of values should correspond to the most efficient range of the test system. 2. The curve should be based on a minimum of three standards. More should be used, a good curve can be produced with from 5 – 7 well distributed points. 3. If possible the values at each end should be beyond the values of any unknown (see above for what to do with unknowns that fall outside the standards).
