What are gangs?
Gangs are groups of people who form an allegiance for a common purpose and commit violent, unlawful or criminal activities. Today’s street gangs may claim control over a certain territory in their community, and creat an atmosphere of fear and intimidation there. Gangs are often involved with narcotics and stolen property, which brings them a profit.
Gangs are neither just a big city or inner city problem, nor are they a problem of a particular race or culture. Gangs cross all ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, gender and geographic boundaries. They bring fear and violence to neighborhoods, traffic in drugs, destroy property, involve youth in crimes and drive out businesses. Gangs pull teens away from school and home into a life of violence. One of the scariest aspects of gang violence is it’s often indiscriminate and unpredictable. Gang members have been known to kick, punch, hit or even kill their victims. People who are simply in the wrong place at the wrong place often get hurt. If gangs or gang members are in your school or neighborhood, you know it. What is a Gang? Hybrid (aka. modern) gangs are flourishing in the United States and their changing nature makes it difficult to track and respond to them.

Gangs are often involved with narcotics, which bring them profit. Who Joins Gangs? Gang Members generally range in age from 13-21 years old, but can be as young as 9 years old. Those who join gangs often have low self esteem, feel unloved at home, do poorly in school, and have a hard time making decisions and communicating with others. Many come from single parent homes. Most gang members are boys, but 10% of all gang members are girls and the number is growing. Why do Kids Join Gangs? Kids join for many reasons, and each case is individual.
Gangs are groups of players banding together on a regular basis, and similar to small guilds in other games. Gangs are just one of several different types of social organizations that a character can choose to belong to. Gangs in Immortal Destiny™ are similar to small guilds and clans in other games.
