What are fun things to do in Phoenix?
I have lived in the area for about 9 years. The good news is that there are plenty of fun things to do: There is the PHX Zoo, Botanical Gardens (by the zoo), Wildlife World Zoo, and a bunch of places to hike like South Mtn and Camelback Mtn. The bad news is if you are coming soon its going to be really hot so a lot of these places might not be too much fun if you aren’t used to 108-110 degree heat. However, there is the Phoenix Art Museum, Herberger Theatre, and a couple more museums and theatres around that might be more comfortable. There are a lot of malls and shopping, my favorites are the Chandler Fashion Mall and Scottsdale Mall. If you are a sports fan at all the AZ Diamondbacks might be playing when you are here as well. If you really want to fo out on a limb you can head up to Sedona which is 1.5-2 hours away where it might be a bit cooler and check out all the red rock formations. Have Fun!
Well there seem to be more negative answers than positive, but I’ve grown up here and everyone I’ve spoken with who has visited have loved it. We have some amazing spas; if you are into treating yourself I recommend The Sanctuary or Camelback Inn. My favorite local restaurant: Grazie in Old Town Scottsdale, also check out AZ 88 for some delicious burgers and a cool scene. La Grande Orange & Postino are awesome too. Shopping; The Waterfront/Scottsdale Fashion Square is absolutely incredible, as is the Biltmore Fashion Center. Hiking; I love Squaw Peak & Camelback Mountain The Phoenix Zoo is fun, especially at night.
